Under the umbrella of the European Social Progress Index, this international event will bring together European cities that are top-ranked on the European Social Progess Index (EU SPI) within their countries. The EU SPI aims to measure social progress for each region as a complement to traditional measures of economic progress. Collectively this summit forms an international network of city leadership that champions the role of Social Progress in their countries.
The second virtual peer learning event focusing on "What the EU regions think about the EU-SPI : Presentation of survey results" took place on the 27th of June at 10:30 PM. The workshop was organised in the frame of the series of peer learning events as part of the activities of the EU SPI Pilot project, and aim to allow remote participation for as many of the core members and associated regions of the project. During the session the results of the survey that was disseminated to the EU regions in April/May 2019, were presented. The survey results were discussed with the participants in order to clarify points and answer specific questions.
The first Virtual Peer Learning Event focusing on "How is the EU-SPI constructed? What is the methodology behind it?" took place on the 4th of June 2019. In the frame of the EU SPI Pilot project, the team aims to organise a series of Peer Learning Events, some of which will be virtual to allow remote participation for as many of the core members and associated regions of the project. The Launch Event was organized in collaboration with DG REGIO and the Committee of the Regions with the aim to bring all members of the Consortium of Regions together and launch the pilot exercise. The EU SPI project team presented the project and its objectives and provided information to the regional representatives about the project methodology and tools as well as the roadmap of upcoming activities.
